WATERLOO, ONTARIO — OpenText, one of Canada’s largest software companies, has launched a North America PR agency pitch, the Holmes Report can reveal.

A spokesperson for the company, which specializes in enterprise information management, confirmed that an agency review is underway, but did not provide details. Sources familiar with the brief, however, said OpenText is looking for an agency to provide product and corporate communications support — and comes amid a push to increase its profile in the US.

Lewis PR has been responsible for much of OpenText’s PR in various regions around the world.

Since its inception in 1991, OpenText has grown into one of the industry’s largest EIM providers, registering annual revenue of nearly $3bn in fiscal 2019. Over the last 15 years or so, the company has made numerous acquisitions including Carbonite, Catalyst Repository Systems, Liaison Technologies and Hightail since 2018.
