SAN FRANCISCO – Salesforce has handed its marketing cloud business to Nectar displacing Finn Partners and making the boutique firm its primary PR agency in the US.

Last year, Salesforce rocked the Silicon Valley PR scene when it moved its seven-figure PR business from Hill + Knowlton Strategies and Shift to Nectar. At the time, Finn Partners retained the Salesforce Marketing Cloud work.

Joe Ciarallo, who leads the marketing cloud PR, confirmed the business the move. The Salesforce Marketing Cloud is designed around "the customer journey" and includes ExactTarget, social media marketing, digital advertising and B2B marketing automation.

Meanwhile, Nectar continues to grow beyond Silicon Valley. In December, the boutique opened its New York office with three people based there. Overall in 2014, Nectar doubled in headcount and saw 115% revenue growth.

In March, Salesforce consolidated UK and EMEA public relations duties with BlueCurrent, ending its relationship with UK incumbent Nelson Bostock.

Salesforce took a stand earlier this month against the first version of Indiana's "religious freedom" law as it employees a considerable workforce in Indiana via its ExactTarget acquisition.
