BOSTON — Samsonite, one of the world’s largest luggage companies, has handed its corporate communications and sustainability business to Brodeur Partners, the Holmes Report has learned.

Brodeur, which launched a sustainability practice late last year, is charged with building awareness of CSR initiatives among the corporate, sustainability and financial communities, practice head Scott Beaudoin confirmed.  Samsonite’s CSR efforts currently focus on four areas — sustainable materials, climate change, diversity & inclusion and philanthropy.

The move is part of a larger PR agency review by Samsonite, which includes a consumer PR agency pitch currently underway, sources said. The company’s brands have worked with a wide range of agencies around the world including Hollywood Agency, Electrify PR, Pale Morning Media, Neville McCarthy Associates and PR Communications.

Hiring Brodeur also marks the first time the century-old company has hired an agency for corporate communications, previously focusing instead of the brands it owns such as Samsonite, Tumi, American Tourister and High Sierra. The account is estimated in the high six-figure range.
