SAN FRANCISCO — Shift Communications has tapped former Next 15 veteran David Hargreaves as MD to lead its San Francisco operation.

In addition, the National PR-owned firm has also appointed Nathan Beers from Indeed.com as VP. The two hires are tasked with growing Shift's San Francisco office and digital marketing capabilities.

Hargreaves will report to founding partner Todd Defren and is responsible for leading the San Francisco office and helping drive its digital and marketing technology capabilities. Beers will report to Hargreaves and is tasked with building and growing a portfolio of tech B2B clients in security, ad tech, and hardware and software infrastructure segments.

"We're thrilled to have such great talent to join our team, but beyond that, we truly feel both David and Nathan's philosophies about client service and team management align perfectly with our way of doing business," said Amy Lyons, managing parter at Shift. "The San Francisco office has a key role to play in Shift's continued leadership of data-driven PR and its integration with broader marketing technologies, we are confident these key hires will be great additions to our data driven communications approach."

Hargreaves makes the move to Shift after nearly three years as chief client officer at Snipp Interactive. There, he was responsible for sales and marketing, targeting consumer brands and agencies with loyalty, promotions and rewards solutions. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at Next15 Group, where he co-founded the company's first digital agency, Beyond, and spent several years as GM of Bite Communications.

Beers comes to Shift from Indeed.com, where he spent over a year as PR manager. Prior to that, he spent six years at MSLGroup as VP in its technology practice.

Shift Communications has more than 120 employees across offices in Boston, San Francisco, New York and Austin. Founded in 2003, Shift is owned by National Public Relations, part of Res Publica Consulting Group.
