Damon Jones | Influence 100

Chief Communications Officer

In March of last year, consumer products giant Procter & Gamble promoted longtime communications exec Damon Jones to the CCO role, replacing Craig Buchholz (who departed to lead global communications at General Motors and is also listed in this year's Influence 100). Jones’ elevation capped a 23-year career with P&G, most recently as VP of global communications and advocacy, and earlier leading the company’s communications in Asia, in UK and Ireland, and for its Gillette business.

Jones has been a powerful voice for P&G’s leadership role in broader social issues, something the company has increasingly prioritized in recent years.

“Being a part of our consumers’ lives isn’t just about providing tangible benefits through our products,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “It’s about understanding our customers’ broader concerns, including issues like inequality and unfairness. Those are problems that go deep within society, and we have an opportunity to shape the conversation around them. We don’t expect everyone to share a point of view, but it’s only by having the discussions that we can get to solutions.”
